This test has two phases: the resting phase and the active phase. To gain an accurate representation of rest, a few pre-test protocols must be followed which include fasting, no coffee/nicotine/alcohol and no training. This phase of the test will take around 30 minutes in total whereas the active phase depends on the amount of time it takes you to reach your maximum effort. During the test, we can also look at how certain supplements affect your metabolism in real time.
